4. Novice Girls and Boys
Under 13 – Age: 01.07.1999 – 30.06.2002
Under 15 – Age: 01.07.1997 – 30.06.1999
Short Program: Duration: max. 2.30 min
Required elements in accordance to ISU Communication No. 1760 Guidelines for International Novice Competitions Single Skating Advanced Novice Girls and Boys C 2.3
Free Program:
Duration: Girls: 3 min +/- 10 sec
Boys: 3 ½ min +/- 10 sec
Well balanced program
In accordance to ISU Communication No. 1760

Single Skating Girls and Boys C 2.3
Specific Explanations for Advanced Novice Singles and Pairs
Fall Explanations: There will be no deduction for a fall after a fully rotated 2 A
or triple jump.

If there are not enough participants, the age categories “Under 13” and “Under 15” will be combined.


ISU BASIC NOVICE A Girls and Boys
a) has reached at least the age of ten (10)
b) has not reached the age of thirteen (13)
Free Skating only. Special attention should be paid to the contents of a well balanced program listed in ISU Communication No. 1760, 2.1. ISU Communication No. 1649
Duration: 2:30 min, +/. 10 sec for boys and girls
A well balanced Free Skating program must contain:
a) Maximum of 4 jump elements for Girls and Boys one of which must be an Axel type jump. There may be up to two (2) jump combinations or sequences. Jump combinations can contain only two (2) jumps. A jump sequence can contain any number of jumps, but only two most difficult jumps will be counted. Triple jumps are not permitted.
b) There must be a maximum of two (2) spins of a different nature (abbreviation), one of which must be a spin combination with or without change of foot (minimum of six (6) revolutions in total) and one spin with no change of position and with or without change of foot (minimum of six (6) revolutions in total).
c) There must be a maximum:
(i) for Girls one (1) step sequence or one (1) spiral sequence consisting of max. two (2) spiral positions. The sequence (step or spiral) will have a fixed Base value and evaluated in GOE only.
(ii) for Boys maximum of one (1) step sequence with a fixed Base value and evaluated in GOE only.
The Program Components are only judged in
• Skating Skills
• Performance/Execution
The Factor of the Program Components is 2.5.
Levels explanations: for Basic Novice A, in all elements which are subject to Levels, only features up to Level 2 will be counted. Any additional features will not count for Level requirements and will be ignored by the Technical Panel.


ISU BASIC NOVICE B Girls and Boys
a) has reached at least the age of thirteen (13)
b) has not reached the age of fifteen (15)
Free Skating only. Special attention should be paid to the contents of a well balanced program listed in ISU Communication No. 1760, 2.2. ISU Communication No. 1649
Duration: 3:00 min, +/. 10 sec for boys and girls
A well balanced Free Skating program for boys and girls must contain:
a) Maximum of 5 jump elements for Girls and 6 jump elements for Boys one of which must be an Axel type jump. There may be up to two (2) jump combinations or sequences. A jump combination can contain only two (2) jumps. A jump sequence can contain any number of jumps, but only two most difficult jumps will be counted.
Only two (2) jumps with two and a half (2 1/2) or more revolutions can be repeated either in a jump combination or in a jump sequence.
b) There must be a maximum of two (2) spins of a different nature, one of which must be a spin combination (minimum of ten (10) revolutions in total) and one a flying spin or a spin with a flying entrance (minimum of six (6) revolutions in total).
c) There must be a maximum:
(i) for Girls one (1) step sequence or one (1) spiral sequence consisting of max. two (2) spiral positions. The sequence (step or spiral) will have a fixed Base value and evaluated in GOE only.
(ii) for Boys maximum of one (1) step sequence with a fixed Base value and evaluated in GOE only.
The Program Components are only judged in
• Skating Skills
• Performance/Execution
• Interpretation
The Factor of the Program Components is
- for boys 2.0
- for girls 1.7

5. Debs Girls and Boys
Same contents how Category Novice, exceptly the jump combination: possible is a jump combination consisting of a single and a double jump.




6. Springs (seperated in age categories) Girls and Boys
Free program: 3 min.+/-10sec. , shorter programs will not be punished by deduction.

Age category Under 7 born after July 01, 2005

Age category Under 8 born between July 01, 2004 and June 30, 2005

Age category Under 9 born between July 01, 2003 and June 30, 2004

Age category Under10 born between July 01, 2002 and June 30, 2003

Age category older than10 born before June 30, 2002 to max. age group 1997.

All age categories could be fold up or seperated on dependence of entries.
Contents:
-Jumps: max. 6 jump elements with min. 1 axel; (A cadet jump fulfil the requirements but has no value.), max. 2 jump combinations or sequences consisting of 2 jumps. In sequences are more jumps possible, but only the two jumps with the highest value will be judged. Any jump is allowed to be shown more than 3 times.
-Spins: max. 2 spins of different nature, one of those spins have to be in one position.
-max. 1 Step Sequence
-1 Choregraphy Spiral: (ChSq) (1 Spiral min. 6 sec. or 2 Spirals min. 3 sec.),
-Judged are following components:
- Skating Skills
- Transitions
- Performance
- Interpretation
The factor for the components is 1,5. All elements with possibility of level features will be counted at best to level 3.
A fall has the deduction of 0,5 points.
In the age category “Under 7” a fall in a jump with 1 ½ rotations or more with full rotation (no < or << sign) will not be punished with the deduction of 0,5 points.
In the age category “Under 8” a fall in a jump with 2 rotations or more with full rotation (no < or << sign) will not be punished with the deduction of 0,5 points.


7. Michel-Cup for age categories 2006 to maximal 1997
Without examination / test
For each age group there will be an own competition if there is a minimum of 8 registrations for one age group. If this requirement is not fullfilled, the organizer will fold up different age groups.
Girls and Boys will start together in the same competition. There will not be a seperate
calculation. The organizer reserves the right to seperated girls and boys.
